![]() Luxury is not what I would describe this as. On opening the window we observed that the advertised courtyard view actually looked onto the rear of a cafe and the bins, etc. On checking in we couldn't help notice that the room was very dark and remained so even after opening the shutters. It is 5 rooms off one small corridor with a private room that is a kitchen where breakfast is put together. This accomodation is set in an old office that has been converted and actually reminded me of modern student accommodation. DO NOT believe the pictures or the descriptions. Town House 62 advertises itself as having luxury rooms. We had booked in for 4 nights and stayed only one. So glad, we were only staying there one night. not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The bedroom area was fine, except, that while it it had mugs and coffee sachets, it had no kettle ! Neither was there a mirror in the bedroom. I noted on other reviews that the showers can give problems. Neither I or my husband could turn the dial. A maintenance man, eventually came and just 'strong armed' it around again and looked at me as if I had two heads. The bathroom was very small, fitted with a large 'jacuzzi' shower which looked promising but the basic shower itself had a faulty dial, which meant that when I turned it, whilst in the shower, to an 'off' position, I couldn't get it back on. It didn't seem like a hotel, rather one floor with bedrooms, having a small reception/check-in area and a separate breakfast area. This shared street entrance, was dirty and shabby, whereas the first floor entrance to the 'hotel' was better maintained. The entrance, as noted on other reviews, is shared with two other hotels. The only saving grace, was Katie, on reception, who went out of her way to assist us. This is not a 4 star hotel, and I don't know how it got this rating. ![]() ![]() Loads of pastries and lovely tarts, I shouldn't but I did! Maybe not ideal if you're a couple or family but on this occasion, it fitted the bill perfectly. Breakfast was very good although cooked options are scrambled egg/ streaky bacon. Rebibbia Metro Station is at the end of the line so I'd say 40 minutes to get to the centre of Rome in total. The minibus service is on a schedule and I didn't wait around, the buses around the corner are very regular, although the drivers bomb along and the roads are full of potholes, really not ideal. No little milks either although the lady at reception went to the kitchen to get me some. The tea and coffee I used was not replenished so low cal sugar etc by the end of my stay. The first coach starts up early but I'm an early riser so no real issue. Only issue was it overlooked a big coach park. Room was huge, very modern with fridge, coffee/ tea making facilities, safe, flatscreen TV etc. I was early and my room wasn't ready, but they moved things around and checked me in - very helpful staff at reception. The cheaper option is to get the coach (tickets in the airport) from the airport to Termini and then get the Metro (72 hour ticket for bus and Metro was about 18 Euros) to Rebibbia Metro Station then get the bus to the hotel, about an hour and a half in total. As it happened, I paid 35 Euros returning on a Sunday morning by taxi to the airport. As a fit, single traveller, I went for the 10 Euro option, it was early morning and I had plenty of time. Communications with the hotel were good although I was told that it was 65 Euros cash by taxi from Ciampino. This is a great hotel, but it's a business hotel and the surrounding area is fairly industrial. Air conditioning, when set to full speed, made a noise similar to the resonance of a heavy truck passing by. ![]() We only have comments about the size of the bathroom (it's hard to disassemble the cosmetics) and the soundproofing of the door - you could hear every sound from the corridor. You could easly get here by taking bus number 62 from Lido Centro Train Station. It is worth taking advantage of the offer of the beach opposite - through the hotel you get a discount on sunbeds and umbrellas. We got a room with a sea view and a balcony - live not to die. We usually don't eat sweet breakfasts, but at the urging of a helpful waitress, we tried a delicious tart. High-quality breakfasts (the best-quality meats, cheeses, coffee, pizza and sweet options), a nice and helpful waitress. They advised us where the best restaurants are and how to get from A to B. The hotel is run by the 4th generation of owners, represented by excellent, kind and English and French-speaking staff. The best possible location as it is the hotel by far the closest to the beach and the pier and the statue of Neptune. ![]()
